Paying in advance
The rates are monthly rates. If you pay in advance, the fund takes off a discount for the time value of money:
| Paid up front | Discount |
|---|---|
| Annual (12 months up front) | 5% |
| Semi-annual (6 months up front) | 3% |
| Quarterly (3 months up front) | 2% |
Between these, the lower discount applies: 2 months paid up front earns no discount, 3 to 5 months earn 2%, 6 to 11 months earn 3%, and 12 months earn 5%.
What is not covered
- Pre-existing conditions not disclosed upon joining. A condition you already had when you joined, and did not declare on your application, is not covered: the fund does not pay for treatment or medication for it. Declare every existing condition when you apply.
